Last night was fabulous, so much cool work. My favourite film was Arctic Sun for Pepsico, by BBDO Canada. Simply beautiful! We were so proud when Topsy won gold, well deserved. The closing gala was very glam, loads of fireworks and dancing. Had one last drink with Jono and Graham at Martinez before going back to hotel. We leave for Nice this morning.

The indian man is the Creative director at Ogilvy India - he spoke at design indaba this year, lovely guy. We had lunch with Jono and Graham before the Pink Party, was fun to walk around with Langathan. We also managed to watch the saatchi and saatchi directors showcase - incredible!! Will bring all the links home.
We weren't expecting it at all. Every time we cross the road we look in the wrong direction, a Crafter literally (I swear) nearly rode over us yesterday afternoon, Cuan turned to me and said it's a sign - guess it was! We were in our seats when by chance Jono walked right past us! We sat next to him and his brother - it was great to be together! (My english is awful - Cuan and I are speaking like the guys from World Class at the moment, very funny.) After we won, we decided to skip Cyber and check it out today. As we were leaving - Adrian Pace was at the bottom of the stairs, and she invited us to the Ogilvy Villa (Which kicks ass by the way) to celebrate. Was an incredible evening. It's all still sinking in. Feeling like a rock star today ;)
Well done to the boys from Ogilvy Frankfurt - they won their first Cannes Lion last night. We celebrated in style with Oysters and MUM champagne - ooooh lalalala ;)

Well done to Ogilvy Cape Town - 9 finalists! Congrats, Matt, Craig, Jacque, Gareth, Perry, Prabs and Sanjiv! It was such a fantastic moment for us when we were handed the Cannes Lions Daily, to find all the finalists from home. Ogilvy Germany also did well, Helmut alone had 16 shortlists = ad genius! The standard in most catergories is exceptionally high. Mind blowing pieces = Gatorade Replay, Australian Guide Dog Association Scent, Nothing soft gets in, from Australia, and the HBO cube. In the press section the art direction trend seems to be big 'old school' type. (Jono was right all along) Unfortunately we didn't manage to convert anything last night, holding thumbs for Wednesday evening. The weather was beautiful yesterday, spent about 30 min on the beach before looking at the exhibits. Youtube has a great promotion, using an electronic spraycan (Alexi) you can tag the digital screen, they will then print your tag on a tshirt. We also played around with the big info touch screen - fantastic, you can book drinks, check weather, send email reminders about lectures etc.
